Your curriculum vitae (CV) is like a showreel of carefully selected best bits and wherever possible we minimise those parts that may be perceived negatively.
My CV does not reflect the vast majority of my efforts. It does not mention missing out on medical school by one grade, the PhD experiment that was transferred to a bomb safe room requiring video monitoring for 48 hours or the worst and most shameful of all; after securing an amazing new contract allowing a customer to kiss me because I didn’t know how to say no without it having a negative impact on the deal.
