I laughed until I cried…and cried until I laughed…

I know, I know… I’m a day late.

But I have a great reason. From Friday to Monday, I was in London helping deliver the One Woman Conference for an organisation very close to my heart: One of Many.

It’s where I completed my first coaching qualification nine years ago. These days, I help deliver that same training twice a year.

So being part of a women’s leadership conference with 200 attendees felt a little like returning to family.

And the best part for me was having thirteen of my clients there too.

Some of them I was meeting in person for the very first time.

That was pretty special.

(You can catch my one-minute highlights video on LinkedIn.)

One of the things that stayed with me most from the weekend was the number of women who told me:

“I haven’t danced or had that much fun in years.”

One question

When was the last time you laughed so hard your stomach ached?

One insight

Most people use LinkedIn as a record of where they’ve been.

The problem is that opportunities are created by where you’re going.

If your profile doesn’t reflect your next step, it will attract opportunities from your past.

At best, you’ll be approached for roles you could have done five years ago.

At worst, you’ll look disengaged from your own career.

One action

Start the day with some music and dancing. I promise you, it will usher joy in.

Here’s three of my favourite tracks for you to try, 12 & 3.

Keep opening up,
Hannah
