If I don’t go, then what is all this all for?

Organising adult get togethers is like a military operation.

I’ve got 1 weekend in October.
I can’t do any midweek.
I can’t commit as far out as March 2027.

As the organiser, it’s driving me insane! 🤯

But then I caught myself doing exactly the same thing.

Two friends from my masters swimming group are getting married.

They’ve invited me to their wedding.

It’s during the summer holidays.

It’s midweek.

I’ve already got work booked.

It’s in Bristol.

Very inconvenient!

I found myself wondering whether I should even go.

Then a thought stopped me in my tracks.

If I don’t go, then what is all this all for?

And by all of this, I mean life!

If we’re too busy to celebrate the people we care about…

Too busy to be fully present with the people we love…

Too busy to properly look after our health…

Then what exactly is all this busyness for?

One question

What is one thing you’d love to do but keep telling yourself you’re too busy for?

One insight

I’ve thought a lot about why we find it so hard to work sustainably. Simply having the tools to be more productive or efficient with our time doesn’t fully resolve things.

Most of us already know how to prioritise, time block, delegate and plan. It’s an internal behavioural shift that’s required.

Because when your Pusher is running the show, being busy doesn’t feel like a choice.

It feels like who you are.

One action

The next time you open your calendar, don’t just look at your meetings.

Listen to your Pusher.

What is it telling you?

I’d love to know what you notice.

Keep opening up,
Hannah
