A little respect…

R-E-S-P-E-C-T – Do You Feel Respected?

For some, respect entails honouring the feelings, wishes, or rights of others. For others, it’s a deep admiration for someone, evoked by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.

What I’ve come to understand is that if you seek respect from others, you must first learn to respect yourself.

Feeling this way is a common experience. When I polled my LinkedIn network, asking, “What is one feeling you wouldn’t tolerate at work?” Disrespect emerged as the top response, with 71%.

I invite you to reflect on these two questions regarding both tasks and behaviours.

1️⃣  What am I doing that I don’t want to be doing?

2️⃣  What am I not doing that I do want to be doing?

Finding answers to either question reveals the next place to integrate more internal integrity.

A simple way to begin is by answering truthfully when asked, “how are you today?”

Respect isn’t reliant on external validation of your competence or worthiness. It’s about discovering an inner resilience unaffected by external influences.

Granting yourself respect will be liberating 🐦🌺
