Saying No To Opportunities

Yesterday marked my first workshop of 2022. It was so wonderful to kick off the year in alignment with my values.
Let me explain…
Towards the end of 2022, I noticed that whenever I was booked to facilitate a ‘Successful Grant’ writing workshop, I would feel a physical repulsion towards it. I was deeply appreciative of the opportunity but that reaction gave me the awareness that it was not aligned to one of my top values in life ‘making a difference’.
The difference I feel called to make is around supporting women to move up or move on in their careers and overcome the thoughts, beliefs and emotions keeping them small. The workshop simply isn’t fully aligned with my vision.
I have committed to running 5 more Successful Grant writing workshop in 2022 which I will of course see through to completion with integrity. Having also set the grounded action of not accepting further invitations. This creates a space, an opening to have more of what I do want in my life. Now that’s exciting!
It can be challenging to say no to what we don’t want but even more challenging to say no to things that are ok for something more.
The question I asked participants at the end of the workshop was, “what was most valuable from today’s session?”
👉 The question “what am I yearning for?”
👉 Separating our connection and intimacy between small and big human – I need to focus on them individually.
👉 Consideration of changing values/having the confidence to change too values.
👉The process to reflect and extract values, see how the past ones transform in the future.
In out-of-the-way places of the heart,
Keep opening up,
Hannah
