Triple heatwave. Triple reminder. 🥵🥵🥵

Last week I swapped the UK heatwave for the Spanish version… only to return home to another one.

This time I was delivering the motivational keynote at the European Women in Organic Chemistry (EWOC) conference, hosted at the beautiful ICIQ in Tarragona.

You can view my 60s video highlights here.

It wasn’t the first time I’ve been invited to speak at EWOC. It was my fifth. And every single time I leave with the same feeling.

I am welcome and I belong.

Because underneath it all, I feel safe to be completely myself.

That feeling is far more powerful than we often realise.

One question

Do you feel safe to be all of who you are at work?

Or have you developed behaviours to blend in, stay quiet, overperform or become the version of yourself you think other people expect? The executive presence myth anyone!

One insight

I’ve had two Career Design Mastermind cohorts running this year.

Cohort 11 completed their six-month journey at the end of June.

There were celebrations, and there were also lots of tears.

Not because the programme was ending, but because it’s incredibly rare to experience a space where you can be completely honest about what’s really going on in your life and career.

A space where vulnerability isn’t judged.

Where uncertainty isn’t seen as weakness.

Where ambitious women support one another without comparison or competition.

Watching the transformation over six months is the privilege and honour of my life.

Cohort 11, you’ve been extraordinary.

Meanwhile, Cohort 12 has just entered Month 4: Career Pivots®. A very important phase.

After running twelve cohorts over the past decade and continually refining the methodology, I’ve distilled the process down to only what is truly essential to create an intentional career. The result is that I’m now able to deliver the same transformational journey in a six-week Accelerator instead of six months.

I’m so excited about what that makes possible for more STEM women. Because we need more women in positions of influence.

If you’d like to be on the priority notification list for the very first Intentional Careers Accelerator, launching this September, simply reply with the word CAREER, and I’ll make sure you’re the first to hear when doors open.

One action

This week, notice the moments when you edit yourself.

Perhaps you hold back a word, a feeling, an idea.
Perhaps you apologise before speaking.
Perhaps you say yes when you really mean no.
Rather than judging yourself, simply become curious.

Ask yourself:
“What am I protecting myself from in this moment?”

Awareness is always the first step towards change.

Keep opening up,

Hannah

PS. Send me the word CAREER via Whatsapp to get on the priority notification list for the September cohort of the Intentional Careers 6-week Accelerator.
