When All the Doors Open at Once
We often talk about the pain of stagnation; feeling trapped, waiting things out, stuck in uncertainty. But what about when everything starts happening at once? It might feel exciting and affirming, but it can also be overwhelming.
When Anna Frangou first stepped into the world of coaching, she wasn’t stuck. In fact, she had options: two job offers on the table and a CV full of experience across academia, start-ups, and biotech. But behind the scenes, Anna felt torn. She wasn’t looking for just any next step; she was looking for the right one. Perhaps you can relate to this?

So how do you decide when all the options are “good” ones?
1. Multiple Offers Aren’t a Burden, They’re Data
The most common question I hear in this scenario is: “What if I make the wrong decision?”
Every offer, conversation, or signal is data; about your value, your impact, and how you’re perceived. The goal isn’t to pick the most prestigious option. It’s to ask: “Which of these aligns most with the version of me I’m becoming?”
2. Making Empowered Choices
In Anna’s case, she initially accepted a start-up role which was dynamic, innovative, fast-paced, and familiar in its chaos. Then another offer came in: a role in medical writing that felt calmer, more structured, and far better suited to her natural strengths. A new piece of data. She was choosing between “interesting and impressive” versus “quiet and aligned.”
We explored both options using a visualisation exercise, which led Anna to describe one of the roles as “a picnic blanket.” (You really have to listen to that part of the coaching session, it’s one of my favourites!) 🎧 iTunes | Spotify Based on that insight, she resigned and moved into the role that truly fit. A decision she wouldn’t have previously considered, purely out of fear about how others might perceive it.
☕ Reflective Journal Prompts
- If you received multiple offers tomorrow, how would you decide?
- Where am I choosing between “good” and “right” in my career?
You don’t have to wait for clarity to arrive by accident. You can create it, design with it, and lead from it, just like Anna did.
Keep opening up,
Hannah
