Stop editing yourself and take up space in the world…

Do you ever feel destabilised by other people?

They pass their judgement as fact, and it is delivered so confidently that it makes you question yourself. Even if you were 100% sure and happy with your position or decision, now you are not. It results in a massive surge of emotions coursing through your body. An emotional dump 💩.

Why We Are Destabilised

People can only sway your stance if you are unsure yourself or there is a sensitivity or hurt around that topic.

For example, imagine you are within a normal BMI and highly intelligent, and someone said, “You are fat and stupid.” You would be so sure you are not that you would laugh.

However, if someone said, “You only get paid that!” and that’s a theme you have had previous hurt around, even if you are happy with your current wage, you might feel on shakier ground.

Other People’s Opinions

This is because, when you are challenged and question yourself, you are placing more weight and importance on someone else’s opinion rather than your own. The fundament limiting belief underneath this pattern is…

“My thoughts and opinions are less valid than other people’s.”

You Know Yourself Best

Remember this…

There’s only you inside you, and you know yourself best, not someone else.

When you receive feedback and opinions, if you find truth or usefulness in them, you have the choice to accept it in part, or in full. And if you fundamentally know it’s not right for you…

“It’s time to give yourself that validity. A solid sense of self that is unwavering in the face of other people’s judgement.” – Dr Hannah Roberts

Stop choosing to believe that you are less valid or worthy than anyone else. We are all born with an equal value of 1. You don’t have to do anything or be anything to achieve it. It exists because you exist in the world.

Stop editing yourself, it is time to take up space in the world 🌍

Keep Opening Up,

Hannah
